gold star for USAHOF

33. Ron Schock

33. Ron Schock

The most important goal that Ron Schock would have would be in a St. Louis Blues uniform when he lit the lamp in double overtime in Game 7 of the 1968 Conference Finals.  That put the Blues into the Stanley Cup Finals in the first year of the club's existence.  St. Louis didn't win, and a year later, Schock was not even a Blue.

The Center would be traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he would see a lot more ice time with his new team.  Schock was a much better playmaker than he was a scorer, as shown by his personal best of 23 Goals (1974-75), but what he did do well was set up his wings.  He would have three 30 Assist seasons, again with 1974-75 seeing him set his career-high (63).  He was also a very good defensive forward and was Pittsburgh's main go-to on the penalty kill.

Schock played with the Penguins until the end of the 1976-77 Season, and he would play a final year in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres.  He would overall have 404 Points for the Pens.
