32. Jordan Staal

32. Jordan Staal

A member of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the first six seasons of his NHL career, Jordan Staal wasted no time as the second overall pick of the 2006 NHL Draft to become one of the better defensive forwards in the NHL.

As a rookie, Staal scored 42 Points while making the All-Rookie team and received a handful of votes for the Frank J. Selke.  He would score seven Short-Handed Goals (NHL leading), and would also finish atop the leaderboard in Shooting Percentage (22.2).

Staal would have back-to-back 49 Points Seasons (2008-09 & 2009-10), with the latter seeing the Center finish third in Selke voting.  In the former, he would help Pittsburgh win the Stanley Cup.  In his last year with the Penguins, Staal had 50 Points in only 62 Games, and he overall had 267 Points with 24 of them coming on the penalty kill.
