gold star for USAHOF

26. Rob Brown

26. Rob Brown

Rob Brown began his NHL career with Pittsburgh when the 4th Rounder debuted for the big club the year after.  Brown had a good rookie year scoring 44 Points, but he was on a line the season after with Mario Lemieux, and he took advantage of the golden opportunity.

Brown would post personal bests of 49 Goals (7th overall), 66 Assists (6th Overall), and 115 Points (5th Overall).  He was named an All-Star that year, and he would also lead the National Hockey League in Shooting Percentage and would do the same in the playoffs that year.

While he never had a year like that again, he would have an 80 Point season right after and would be traded straight up for Scott Young early in 1990-91.

The Right Wing returned to the Steel City as a Free Agent in 1997, and he would spend three more years with the Penguins, scoring 87 Points over those last three campaigns, which would also be the last of his run in the NHL.

Young’s overall numbers in Pittsburgh showcase 342 Points with a Point Per Game Average of .83.
