Shanahan brought his elbows and scoring to New Jersey, scoring 26 Points as a rookie and 50 as a sophomore. In his third year, he had his first 30-Goal year, finishing one below that mark in 1990-91. Shanahan was a player on the rise, and the St. Louis Blues certainly thought so as they tendered him an offer as a Restricted Free Agent, and that is where Shanahan went to play.
He scored Shanahan 228 Points for New Jersey, and he entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2013.
