gold star for USAHOF

29. Lee Fogolin

29. Lee Fogolin

The son of Lee Fogolin Sr., who won a Stanley Cup in 1950 with the Detroit Red Wings, Lee Fogolin Jr., would double his father's accomplishments by winning two Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers.

The Defenseman would play for the Buffalo Sabres for five seasons before Edmonton claimed him in the 1979 Expansion Draft.  Fogolin was a traditional stay-at-home Defenseman, which Edmonton would come to covet as their team was loaded with offensive firepower.  Fogolin was a captain for two seasons, and he would help Edmonton win their first two Stanley Cups in 1984 and 1985.  He would make the All-Star Team in 1986.

Fogolin was traded back to the Buffalo Sabres late in the 1986-87 season, and he would retire shortly after.  As an Oiler, Fogolin scored 160 Points with a Plus/Minus of +153.  Fogolin would be included in the Oilers inaugural Hall of Fame Class in 2022.
