4. Ryan Miller

4. Ryan Miller

One of the better American Goalies in recent memory, Ryan Miller was a three-time CCHA Goalie of the Year at Michigan State, and the undrafted Spartan signed with the Buffalo Sabres, who he debuted for in 2002.

Miller became their starter in the 2005-06 campaign, and a year later, he was sixth in Vezina voting.  He remained their starter for years, and in the 2009-10 season, he had the year of his life.  Miller was easily the best netminder of the campaign, earning Vezina honors with career-bests in Wins (41), Save Percentage (.929), and Goals Against Average (2.22).  He would also finish fourth for the Hart and was a First Team All-Star.

While Miller did not replicate his 2009-10 performance, he was still one of the better Goalies in the NHL for years after, and remained their first-string goalie until he was traded to the St. Louis Blues in February 2014.

With the Sabres, Miller had a 284-186-57 record with a 2.58 GAA.
