Trivia question; Who was the first player to lead the NHL in plus/minus when it became an official statistic?

Answer: Dallas Smith.
Smith would play all but his final year in professional career with the Boston Bruins, and was often paired with the great Bobby Orr.  This pairing was very complimentary, as the freakishly strong Smith was far more inclined to stay on the defensive side of the ice, but he was still an NHL All Star four times and was a large component of the two Stanley Cup wins in 1970 and 1972.
