Bill Gadsby

Bill Gadsby
An excellent two way Defenceman, Bill Gadsby did not have the best of fortune with the teams he played on, as even in the Original Six era, he only played 67 playoff games. Most of those playoff games were on good Red Wings teams from the 60’s, when he was still a good player, but not at his prime like he was the decade before.

He was not an injury prone player, but became infamous in the NHL for the large amount of cuts he would sustain on his face (he estimated he had 600 stitches) which was not exactly a shock considering the physical style in which he played Hockey. Bill Gadsby may be one of the better players in Hockey history (as shown by his seven post season All Star selections) to go conclude a career without a Stanley Cup.
