John MacLean’s long career would see him finish six games shy of 1,200, an incredible feat considering that he would miss an entire season in his prime (the 1991-92 campaign) due to a knee injury.

Prior to that injury, Maclean had already proven himself as a solid and gritty forward who knew how to put the puck in the net.  In the three seasons prior, he was a 40 Goal scorer and after coming back from injury he had another three 30 Goal seasons.  Scoring 701 of his 842 career Points with the New Jersey Devils, Maclean was a part of the first Stanley Cup win in the 1995 season.  He is also a two-time NHL All-Star, and not the hero from the Christmas Party in Die Hard; that was John McClane!
