Ziggy, Its funny you say that as when we did this, we joked that we could easily sibstitute the numbers 50 -100 for who we had on tap from 101 to 150. Once you get past the top 40, it amazes us how little seperates the next batch.
So, who do you think the top 10 non-players that aren't in the hall of fame are? My list: Tom Flores, Jimmy Johnson, George Seifert, Dan Reeves (although apparently he still wants to coach), Don Coryell, Art Modell, Edward DeBartolo, William Clay Ford, Paul Tagliabue, and Ed Sabol.
Ziggy,I love those ten! I think anyone would be hardpressed to come up with a better list than that. The more research i do on Sabol, the more I think he should be in this year. Do you think if Bill Cowher never coaches another game, would be an HOF candidate?
Yes, I do. He led the Steelers to numerous years of contending, and did win a Super Bowl. If he never coaches another game, his first year of elligibility is 2012. I don't think he'll go in then, but I think he'll get in eventually asuming he doesn't come back. Bill Parcells and Marty Schottenheimer are also elligible in 2012. I think Parcells should be a first-ballot, and Schottenheimer will get in eventually.
Oh yeah, and one more thing. I don't remember seing Ken Riley on your list. The dude is fifth on the all-time interceptions list, but he never gets any respect. I don't blame you for not including him, since nobody really knows him that well, I'm just wondering.

As a Detroit native, I think the physical distance between Detroit and Canton, Ohio is closer than the distance between Ford and how much he deserves to be inducted. 1 playoff win since he became owner? And that's top 10?Replace his name with George Young and it's an excellent starting point.
Hey where is Dwight Clark? And Russ Washington and Herb Scott? My only other real beef is that Mark Gastineau and Otis Taylor are way too low on the list. But that is for another rant.
Yeah I noticed Dwight Clark wasn't here as well. Gastineau, in my opinion, is not a hall of famer, Taylor is borderline. I would like to see Otis eventually get in. P.S. hey jimmy, are you happy that Willie Roaf didn't make the hall of fame?
