2019 WWE List Revisions

5 years 2 weeks ago #1164 by Dr Clayton Forrester
I thought we could start with the current inductees list.

The following do not have entries in that section.

Ed Strangler Lewis
Frank Gotch
George Hackenschmidt
Dara Singh
Martin Farmer Burns
Judy Grable
Luther Lindsey
Bearcat Wright
Cora Combs
Rufus R Jones

Mr T
Snoop Dogg
Arnold Schwarzenegger

Connor the Crusher Michalek
Joan Lunden
Eric LeGrand
Jarrius JJ Robertson
Sue Aitchison (going in this year)

Honky Tonk Man, Torrie Wilson, and Brutus the Barber Beefcake will obviously be moved to this section, but what happens with D-Generation X, Harlem Heat, and the Hart Foundation? They have individual bios, but not group entries. I think group bios should be created and their individual ones should be taken off the main list. All except for Triple H who will undoubtedly headline a future class as a singles competitor.

We'll have to wait and see what happens this week with the Legacy Wing. The last two years we managed to get early word on who was going in, they managed to leave someone off the list. We didn't know about Bearcat Wright in 2017 and Hiro Matsuda in 2018 until the video aired at the ceremony. So we'll have to keep an eye on that.

Thanks for the reminder on adding to the current ones. I have let that one go.

As for the other question, my thought is what we did with the FOur Horsemen....

We took Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, J.J. Dillon and Tully Blanchard out as they were inducted as Horsemen and they were removed...so i will take out Neidhart, HHH, NAO, Xpac, Chyna, Stevie Ray and Jim Neidhart.

You are right about the legacy wing. Such a great idea yet such horrible execution. Hell, we don't even know if they will do it!

So you will take Triple H off of the list? I wasn't sure what the best move there was since we know he'll be a headliner as a singles competitor eventually. The others will just never get a singles induction.

Moving on!

The celebrity wing.

I think Ronda Rousey needs to be moved to the Future inductees section. That will bring the celeb list down to 27. If you want it back up to 30, I suggest Leslie Nielsen, Aretha Franklin, and Joan Rivers. Unless you have others in mind?

It's possible they might induct a celebrity into the legacy wing though. Muhammad Ali and Andy Kaufman most likely. So once again we'll need to watch that. Right now reports are coming out about this years Legacy Wing and.... well it seems WWE has completely widened that criteria.

Yep.... Trips will be off.

Those are good suggestions for the Celebrity Wing..... That one will be easy to do.

This weekend will be a busy one with the announcement of the Basketball HOF. WIll be revising all next week!

Well good luck with the Basketball section.

And now to the more complicated area of the wrestling section. lol

The Future Candidates list.

The following are over the age of forty five. That I believe was when we decided wrestlers would age out of the section and join the main list.

Chavo Guerrero Jr
Steve Corino
Montel Vontavious Porter
Taka Michinoku
Christopher Daniels
Michael Cole

Others I think could be added to the main list.

The Hurricane - He's 44 (turns 45 in July) and now a producer backstage.

The Bella Twins - They have now said they are retired from in ring competition.

Gail Kim - Retired and already in the TNA Hall of Fame.

CM Punk and AJ Lee - Both are said to be retired. AJ has neck issues and Punk is just bitter at WWE. I'm not saying Punk might not return for a big pay day, but he likely won't be a full time wrestler if that ever happens.

Eve Torres - She's a WWE Ambassador now and works another job outside of WWE. She is rather young though, so it's kinda up in the air.

Paige - She said she was retired from in ring competition. She's also really young so I'm not sure.

There are couple of others that are nearing the age limit or are semi retired, but they can probably be dealt with next year.

I think the following should be added to this section.

Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins
Dean Ambrose
New Day
Cody Rhodes
Zack Ryder
John Morrison
Finn Balor
Kevin Owens
Braun Strowman
The Usos
Bray Wyatt
Rusev
Jinder Mahal
Ryback
Hornswoggle
Evan Bourne
Paul London
Chris Masters
Mr Kennedy
Kenny Omega
Kazuchika Okada
Charlotte
Becky Lynch
Asuka
Sasha Banks
Bayley
Alexa Bliss
Nia Jax
Kelly Kelly
Melina
Ronda Rousey

It's a lot, but when looking at who is already in this section, I think this would help balance it out.

Yep... Lots to do for sure.

The Future Candidates list.

The following are over the age of forty five. That I believe was when we decided wrestlers would age out of the section and join the main list.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. (YES)
Steve Corino (YES)
Montel Vontavious Porter (YES)
Taka Michinoku (YES)
Christopher Daniels (YES)
Michael Cole. Will wait two more years... different standard for announcers.

Others I think could be added to the main list.

The Hurricane - He's 44 (turns 45 in July) and now a producer backstage. Will wait on this one...he can still go.

The Bella Twins - They have now said they are retired from in ring competition. They said that before!!! Will wait one more year.

Gail Kim - Retired and already in the TNA Hall of Fame. Yes

CM Punk and AJ Lee - Both are said to be retired. AJ has neck issues and Punk is just bitter at WWE. I'm not saying Punk might not return for a big pay day, but he likely won't be a full time wrestler if that ever happens. Waiting on both. I don't ever see Punk coming back but will still give it a bit.

Eve Torres - She's a WWE Ambassador now and works another job outside of WWE. She is rather young though, so it's kinda up in the air. Will wait

Paige - She said she was retired from in ring competition. She's also really young so I'm not sure. Not even 25....medicine can get her back.

There are couple of others that are nearing the age limit or are semi retired, but they can probably be dealt with next year.

I think the following should be added to this section. (probably will add half.... will look at after revisions.)

Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins
Dean Ambrose
New Day
Cody Rhodes
Zack Ryder
John Morrison
Finn Balor
Kevin Owens
Braun Strowman
The Usos
Bray Wyatt
Rusev
Jinder Mahal
Ryback
Hornswoggle
Evan Bourne
Paul London
Chris Masters
Mr Kennedy
Kenny Omega
Kazuchika Okada
Charlotte
Becky Lynch
Asuka
Sasha Banks

So 6 to be moved from the future list to the main list. Taking them into account and the number of entries that will be moving from the main list to the current hall of famers list (including rumored Legacy Wing names),  then we would need 35 or 36 more entries.

In no particular order right now, this is my rough draft of who I think should go on the main list.

1. William Muldoon
2. Penny Banner
3. Ricki Starr
4. Tom Jenkins
5. Billy Sandow
6. Devil Masami
7. Antonio Pena
8. Roderick Jess McMahon
9. The Duseks
10. Negro Casas
11. Tyson Kidd
12. Jackie Sato
13. Evan Lewis
14. Lizmark
15. Salvador Lutteroth
16. Paco Alonso
17. Earl Caddock
18. Masakatsu Funaki
19. Wladek Zbyszko
20. Hiroshi Hase
21. Gene LeBell
22. Jazz
23. Maurice Tillet
24. El Satanico
25. Lord Littlebrook
26. Gene Stanlee
27. Kintaro Oki
28. Abyss
29. Gladys Gillem
30. Phil Zacko
31. Frank Sexton
32. Kay Noble
33. The Boogeyman
34. Rayo de Jalisco Sr
35. Vivian Vachon
36. Joe Savoldi

Most are just Legacy Wing fodder, but some are more modern. The Boogeyman kinda stands out but it's clear WWE values the gimmick like it did Doink or the Bushwhackers.

I thought about pushing lower card acts like the Orient Express, Spike Dudley, and the Warlord for the back of the list, but figured you'd still oppose them. lol

Also we know the WWE will induct the New World Order, but I wasn't sure you'd want a faction entry for the main list.

There's also Ray Rougeau who works as French commentator for WWE who will likely go in with Jacques, but I don't know who I would cut for him.

I left someone off my list because they might be going into this years Legacy Wing. Also I kept someone on this list but it would not surprise me if she goes in this year instead of... But the rumored names for that class I think deserve a new thread for discussion.

Mark Henry has lately been bringing attention to an African American wrestler named Jim Mitchell. I don't know much about him other than his pioneer status and his nickname "the Black Panther." There's a new book about him that I haven't read yet though. I'd probably bump Phil Zacko from my list and add Mitchell.

But what are your thoughts about all of these names?
