Rote began his run as a pro primarily as a rusher. In his rookie season, he only played five Games but would rush for 421 Yards as a sophomore. Knee issues pushed him into more of a receiving role, and he rattled off four straight Pro Bowl Selections (1953-56), culminating in a 1956 NFL Championship.
Rote aided the Giants in reaching the NFL Title Game four more times, and in his last two years he had personal bests in Receiving Yards with 750 and 805, respectively. Rote ended his career with 5,668 Yards from Scrimmage and 52 Touchdowns.
