Tittle did not just have a renaissance with New York, and he had the best two years of his career. Tittle was expected to work alongside the incumbent QB, Charley Conerly, but Tittle became the primary starter and went to the Pro Bowl in 1961. He took the Giants to the Championship Game (they lost) and named the MVP by the NEA. Tittle was even better the next two seasons, again leading the Giants to the Title Game (but they lost both times), but he led the NFL in Touchdown Passes both years with numbers of 33 and 36. Tittle again received versions of the MVP in those seasons; the UPI in 1962 and the UPI and A.P. in 1963.
In '62 and '63, Tittle was the best Q.B. in football, but this was the end, as he was tackled from behind, and it ripped cartilage in his ribs. Tittle limped through the season, but it was a bad one, and he retired shortly after.
As a Giant, Tittle had 10,439 Passing Yards with a TD-INT record of 96-68. Tittle was chosen for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971. The Giants retired his number #14 in 1965, and he was part of the first group inducted ino the Giants Ring of Honor.
