Gilmore did well in 2017, assisting the Patriots in winning the AFC, but in 2018, he was a First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl Selection. That year, Gilmore would aid the Patriots in winning their sixth Super Bowl, which was Gilmore's first.
The Cornerback had the season of his life in 2019, where Gilmore led the NFL in Interceptions (6), was second in Approximate Value (21), and was a First Team All-Pro for the second year in a row. Gilmore was so good; he was the winner of the Defensive Player of the Year Award. Gilmore would be named to the Pro Bowl again in 2020, though he was not as effective as he was in 2019, but how could he be! That would be his last year in New England, as he joined Carolina in 2021.
Gilmore may only have four seasons of tenure as a Patriot, but he is the only one to win the DPOY.
