Moss was traded from Minnesota to Oakland, where he played two years. He was not happy there, and it was believed that Moss's best days were long gone. Bill Belichick thought differently and gave up a Fourth Round Pick for Moss. As usual, Belichick was right.
In his first season in New England (2007), Moss and Tom Brady became a potent combination, and the former MAC Player of the Year was happy, motivated, and healthy for the first time in years. Moss was a Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro for the first time since 2003, had 1,493 Receiving Yards, and set a personal high of 23 Receiving Touchdowns. The Pats made it to the Super Bowl but were upset by the New York Giants.
Moss had over 1,000 Yards Receiving in the next two seasons, both of which again seeing him secure double-digits in Touchdowns, with the latter year (13) earning him his fourth Receiving Yards Title.
Moss would not have the cleanest departure from the Patriots. The Wide Receiver was not offered a contract extension leading into the 2010 season, and he was openly upset feeling “unwanted” by the Patriots. Moss was shipped off back to the Vikings early in the season.
Regardless of his end in New England, Moss had 3,904 Yards with a phenomenal 50 Touchdowns in 52 Games.
Moss was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018, his first year of eligibility.
