The move to L.A. or instead to Southern California was precisely what he wanted, and he did well for the Rams. In a game in 1973 he set a still-standing record as the only player in National Football League history to record two Safeties in a game. The Defensive End would tie with Jack Youngblood for the unofficial Sack lead with 15 in 1974, and he would go into a First Team All-Pro and was a Pro Bowler the following year. He wouldn't get either of those accolades again but he was still very good, and he helped them reach Super Bowl XIV.
Dryer would later become a successful actor, starring in his own action series, Hunter on NBC.
