38. Dick Harris

One of the most unlikely defensive stars in the early days of the Chargers was Dick Harris, an undrafted player from McNeese State.

Harris was one of the many players that made the most of the opportunity afforded to him with the formation of the American Football League.  Harris made the Los Angeles Chargers roster in their inaugural season, and he became a surprise star, named a First Team All-Pro in his first two seasons, and a Second Team All-Pro in the next two.  The Cornerback had 25 Interceptions in those four years, culminating with an AFL Championship for the 1963 Season.

Harris only played two more seasons as injuries compiled.  Harris left the game after the 1965 season, finishing his career with 29 picks over 76 Games.
