Selected sixth overall out of Notre Dame in the 2018 NFL Draft, Quenton Nelson stepped onto the turf in Indianapolis and immediately established a new gold standard for interior offensive line play. Plugging straight in at left guard as a rookie, his rare combination of mauling functional strength, light-footed mobility, and nasty finishing ability transformed the entire culture of the Colts' offense from his very first snap.

Nelson's early career run ranks among the most decorated start-to-finish dominant stretches by any guard in gridiron history. He burst out of the gates as a First-Team AP All-Pro in each of his first three seasons (2018, 2019, 2020), becoming only the second offensive lineman since the AFL-NFL merger to accomplish that feat. Generating Approximate Value (AV) marks of 17, 15, and 14 across those initial three campaigns, Nelson set the tone for an offensive line that consistently ranked among the elite unit protections in the league, spearheading massive rushing lanes for backfield stars like Marlon Mack and Jonathan Taylor.

As he has evolved into the franchise’s veteran heart and soul, Nelson's consistency has remained virtually unrivaled. Through his eight seasons in Indianapolis, he has earned a Pro Bowl nod in every single year of his career (2018–2025). He added three Second-Team AP All-Pro selections (2021, 2024, 2025) to his resume, anchored by a brilliant 2025 campaign where he started all 17 games, surrendered just a single sack, and compiled a 13 AV rating. His durability has been a hallmark of his tenure, and he has started all 129 games he has appeared in for the horseshoe.

Nelson begins 2026 with a perfect eight-for-eight record in Pro Bowls, and a ninth one is a distinct possibility.
