50. Mike Reid

A captain on two undefeated Penn State teams, Mike Reid, was an All-American Defensive Tackle who also won the Outland and Maxwell Award.  This collegiate success resulted in him being selected with the seventh overall Pick, which was held by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Reid won the starting Left Defensive Tackle job as a rookie (1970), and two years later, he had his best year as a pro, posting a 15 in Approximate Value while being named a First Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler.  Reid was a Pro Bowler again the year after but would retire in 1974, after starting all but one of his 64 Games.

Following his football career, Reid became a successful country music singer and writer, and he had a number one hit (“Walk on Faith”) in the Country Music Chart.
