Houshmandzadeh was a Seventh Rounder from Oregon State in 2001, and he was mostly used as a returner in his first two seasons. That would likely have been the case in 2003, but a hamstring injury limited him to only two games. It wasn’t the most impressive three years for Houshmandzadeh, but in 2004, he fought his way into the Bengals starting lineup.
In both 2004 and 2005, Houshmandzadeh cracked 900 Receiving Yards, and in 2006 and 2007, he reached the magical 1,000 Yard mark. 2007 was without question his best year as the Wide Receiver led the NFL in Receptions (112), and had career-highs in Receiving Yards (1,143) and Touchdowns (12). Houshmandzadeh was rewarded with a Pro Bowl trip.
He played for the Bengals for one more year and left for Seattle as a Free Agent. Houshmandzadeh’s time in Ohio would see him accumulate 5,782 Receiving Yards and 37 Touchdowns.
