Drafted 27th overall in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of LSU, Tre'Davious White became a cornerstone for general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott's defensive culture change. Quickly stepping onto the boundary as the secondary's premier shutdown option, White grew into one of the most complete cornerbacks in the NFL.

White combined disciplined footwork, sharp instincts, and fluid hip mechanics. Operating as a boundary press-man and zone technician, his defining trait was route recognition; he routinely anticipated breaks, suffocated receiver releases at the line of scrimmage, and closed on the football with elite ball-tracking skills.

After earning PFWA All-Rookie Team honors in 2017 (four interceptions) with a second-place finish for the Defensive Rookie of the Year, and solidifying his status in 2018, White produced an elite season in 2019. Serving as the focal point of Buffalo's top-ranked pass defense, White tied for the NFL lead with six interceptions, did not allow a single touchdown catch in coverage all season, and generated 18 Approximate Value (AV)—fifth-most among all NFL players that year. His dominance earned him First-Team All-Pro honors and his first Pro Bowl selection, cementing his status as arguably the finest cornerback in football.

He followed that peak with another dominant campaign in 2020, recording three interceptions, 1.5 sacks, and 11 passes defensed across 14 starts to capture his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection and Second-Team All-Pro honors.

White's momentum was derailed by severe injuries—a torn ACL in late 2021 followed by an Achilles tear in early 2023. After being released in early 2024, White spent the 2024 season with the Rams and Ravens. In April 2025, White made a celebrated return to Western New York, signing a one-year contract to rejoin the Bills. Serving as a key veteran presence in the secondary during the 2025 campaign, White appeared in a rotational and starting capacity, tallying 40 total tackles, 10 passes defensed, and an interception while helping guide Buffalo back to the postseason.

With the Bills, White had 19 interceptions and 351 combined tackles.
