Cribbs greatly reduced his “fumbleitis” and he rushed for 1,000 Yards in 1981 and 1983, and had it not been for the strike in 1982, probably would have done so that year too. A three-time Pro Bowler, Cribbs broke his contract to join Birmingham of the USFL, but returned two years later for a final season, though he was not nearly as successful in his one-year return to the Bills. The Running Back left for San Francisco the following season.
With the Bills, Cribbs had 6,228 Yards From Scrimmage with 36 Touchdowns. Notably, in each of his Pro Bowl years, he was in the top ten in YFS.
