Drafted 10th overall from Arizona State in the 2003 NFL Draft, Terrell Suggs came to Baltimore armed with impressive length, quickness, and a fierce attitude. He joined a formidable defense led by Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, and quickly became a key part of Charm City's intimidating identity. Known as "T-Sizzle," he didn’t just fit in—he became its most vocal and feared pass-rushing force over 16 seasons.

Suggs enhanced edge play by combining aggressive pass rushes with disciplined run defense. Unlike speed rushers who sacrificed edge control to chase quarterbacks, Suggs had the lower-body strength to establish a firm outer boundary against pullers, forcefully directing running lanes back inside toward his linebackers. His signature dip-and-rip move enabled him to navigate tight corner angles when rushing the passer, and his long reach made him a top strip-sacker, often swatting the ball away before the quarterback's arm moved forward.

Suggs made a notable debut in the league in 2003. Although he started just one game his first year, he achieved 12.0 sacks and six forced fumbles, setting a rookie record for the Ravens and winning the AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He continued to excel in 2004 with 10.5 sacks, earning his first Pro Bowl selection.

As his responsibilities grew into a versatile outside linebacker role, Suggs emerged as the emotional energizer of Baltimore's front seven. His legendary rivalry with the Pittsburgh Steelers—especially with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger—was marked by fierce sacks, critical takeaways, and his distinctive gladiator visor. In 2008, Suggs received a Second-Team All-Pro recognition after recording eight sacks, two interceptions, and returning two for touchdowns, playing a key part in Baltimore's journey to the AFC Championship Game.

His standout individual achievement was during his notable 2011 Defensive Player of the Year season. Suggs was a dominant force throughout, setting a career-high with 14.0 sacks, leading the league with seven forced fumbles, and also making two interceptions, earning First-Team All-Pro honors. The following year, after recovering quickly from an offseason Achilles tear, Suggs played a key role on the edge during the 2012 postseason, providing vital pressure that contributed to the team's Super Bowl XLVII victory.

Suggs stayed a major disruptor even into his mid-30s. He achieved double-digit sacks in 2013 (10.0), 2014 (12.0), and 2017 (11.0), earning his seventh Pro Bowl at age 35. After 16 seasons with Baltimore ending in 2018, Suggs played his last season with the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs, winning a second Super Bowl with Kansas City in Super Bowl LIV.

Across 229 regular-season games in a Baltimore uniform, Suggs set untouchable franchise records with 132.5 sacks and 37 forced fumbles. He also stands as the NFL's all-time leader in career tackles for loss with 202.  He was inducted into the Ravens Ring of Honor in 2023.
