The head of Death Records is the seemingly ageless "Swan," who, when we first meet him, we realize quickly that there is more than meets the eye. In addition to his label, he is the owner of the Paradise Theatre, which he plans to make the ultimate venue in all of Rock and Roll.
As part of his plan, he secures (steals) the songwriting talent of Winslow Leach and hires his muse, Phoenix, but it turns out that Swan had sold his soul to the devil and is forever young, at least it was on a temporary basis anyway.
