In Be Cool, Sin LaSalle (Cedric the Entertainer) is one of the most interesting characters in the film, and he is owed 300k by Edie Athens, who inherited that debt from the death of her husband whose record label was not particularly doing well. LaSalle was a hip-hop record producer who, unlike some of the other music related personnel we come across, is successful.
