Whenever we think about this movie, the first thought is the backlash that its star Andrew Dice Clay was suffering when promoting the film and the breakdown he had on the Arsenio Hall Show. That appearance took away from the film, and the whirlwind that was around makes it difficult to isolate.
Saying that,
Clay portrays Ford Fairlane, a detective who specializes in handling problems/crimes for rock stars. He is hired by a friend to look at the murder of rock star, Bobby Black and it takes him on a tour of the darker side of the Los Angeles music industry. Fortunately for us, this is a "Rock and Roll Detective," so what can the world's most important musical genre do to him that he can't overcome?
…other than a poor box office, of course.
