While shown to be ambitious, Clark Morrelle is more of a desperate figure at American Century label. Morrelle was a junior A&R rep who doesn't appear to be that talented, and when cutbacks occur, he is let go, though he begs his way to stay with the company, albeit in the mailroom.
Morrelle would find his musical redemption of a sort as he is introduced to a new world of disco music and finds that one of those artists, Indigo, is on the American Century label and is about to be axed. Through his work, Indigo sales went up, and he saved them from termination.
