A two-time All-American and Pac-10 Player of the Year at UCLA, Greenwood was the Second Overall Pick in 1979. The Power Forward was an All-Rookie with 16.3 Points, 9.4 Rebounds, and 1.6 Blocks per Game, but in terms of Points and Blocks, those would be career-highs. Greenwood continued to flirt with averaging ten boards a game over the next three years, but his PPG dipped below 15, and then to 10.0 in 1982-83. He would stay over double-digits in PPG (12.2) in 1983-84, and he finally cracked 10 Rebounds per Game (10.1) and was ninth in the NBA.
After a poor year in 1984-85, Greenwood was traded to San Antonio for George Gervin. He would later win an NBA Championship with the Pistons in 1990. Greenwood's overall numbers were decent for Chicago, 12.6 Points and 9.1 Rebounds per Game over six years, but fans and Bulls brass were hoping for more from a Second Overall Pick.
