gold star for USAHOF

36. Nate Archibald

36. Nate Archibald

Nate “Tiny” Archibald was an absolute beast for the Kansas City Kings, and the stats he put up there can't be forgotten, and when we get to an all-relocated team, we will put up a shrine for him.  A torn Achilles would take him out of the 1977-78 Season (where he was with the Buffalo Braves), and he would be traded to Boston where he would take over as their starting Point Guard.

Archibald wasn't the same player, but he would reinvent himself more in the traditional Point Guard role, and he would make his fourth, fifth and sixth All-Star Game, with the fifth one seeing earn All-Star Game MVP honors.  He would also be named a Second Team All-NBA Selection in 1981, the same year that he would win his only NBA Championship.

Overall, Archibald would average 12.5 Points and 7.1 Assists per Game as a Celtic.

While this rank might seem low, it is hard to put a player regardless of his All-Star appearances any higher that has a negative VORP.  Basically, that implies they would have done even better with most NBA Point Guards.  This is a fact that matters on our lists.

Archibald would be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
