36. Larry Siegfried

Larry Siegfried took a longer way than many to get to the Celtics, as he was drafted 3rd in the 1961 Draft by the Cincinnati Royals, a team the former Ohio State Buckeye surprisingly did not want to play for. Instead, he elected to play for the Cleveland Pipers of the American Basketball League and would win a title there. However, the league folded, and he would sign with the St. Louis Hawks, who bought his NBA rights from Cincinnati.  The Hawks cut him, and, with his confidence low, he was picked up by Boston.

In a reserve role, he helped Boston win titles in 1964 and 1965, and had a more significant role the following year, receiving more playing time and leading the NBA in Free Throw Percentage (1965/66). He would win another NBA Championship.  With strong defense and excellent shooting, he again helped them win two more titles (1968 & 1969) and, in 1968/69, would lead the league in Free Throw Percentage for a second time.  His Celtics career ended when Portland chose him in the Expansion Draft, and overall, he averaged 11.6 Points per Game for Boston.
