33. Steve Hawes

A member of the Atlanta Hawks for six and a half seasons, Steve Hawes would average an even 10 Points per Game during his tenure in the ATL.  Hawes may not have put up the blocking numbers you want from a big man, but he did have efficient shooting and rebounding, which did not earn him the respect he probably should have received.

The Bullet Points

  • Position: Center, Power Forward
  • Acquired: Traded from the Portland Trail Blazers with Geoff Petrie for Maurice Lucas. This trade was for the 2nd Pick in the ABA Dispersal Draft 8/5/76.
  • Departed: Traded to the Seattle SuperSonics as part of a three team trade.  The Detroit Pistons traded a 1984 2nd Round and 1985 2nd Round Pick to Atlanta (which would be Tony Costner and Lorenzo Charles respectively).  Seattle sent Ray Tolbert to Detroit 2/13/83.
