An All-American at Marquette, Wade was drafted 5th Overall in 2003, and it did not take him long to assume a leadership role with the team. The Guard brought that sweet shooting touch to Miami, and after being named to the first of what would be 13 All-Star Games in 2005, he would put on one of the greatest NBA Finals in history with a 33.8 PER leading the Heat to their first NBA Championship. Wade would go on a tear where he would be a vital member of the ”Redeem" Team that won the United States Gold Medal in 2008, and he would win the Scoring Title in 2008/09 with a PPG of 30.2. While this was his highest amount, he would have nine other seasons where he averaged more than 21 Points per Game.
It was the Olympics where he had LeBron James and Chris Bosh as his teammates, and he would be joined by the members of his 2003 Draft Class to make a superteam that would win the 2012 and 2013 NBA Title.
Overall, Wade would be a 13-time All-Star, eight-time All-NBA Selection, and was a three-time All-Defensive Selection. He should be a first ballot lock for Springfield.
