Lance Lynn had some ups and downs before he became a Texas Ranger, going to an All-Star Game in St. Louis, to missing the entire 2016 season due to Tommy John surgery.  After an unremarkable season split between the Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees, Lynn signed with the Texas Rangers in the 2019 season, and he was prepped for a comeback.

Lynn posted a 16-11 record with 246 Strikeouts and a fifth-place finish for the Cy Young.  In the COVID-19-ravaged 2020 season, Lynn went 6-3, and led the American League in Innings Pitched (84.0) and was sixth for the Cy Young.  2019 and 2020 is the best two-year period of Lynn’s career, but the rebuilding Rangers traded him to Chicago after the season.

Lynn’s career in Texas was brief, but very few Rangers’ Pitchers who has had multiple seasons where he was in the top six in Cy Young voting.
