Adames was signed as an Amateur Free Agent by the Detroit Tigers in 2012, and the Dominican infielder was dealt to the Rays before he made the Majors two years later. Adames would reach Tampa in 2018, playing in 85 Games, but the year after, he was one of the best defensive players in the game. Affixed at Shortstop, Adames led the American League in Total Zone Runs in his position and was fifth in Defensive bWAR. He would also give a decent season with his bat, with a 20 Home Run year and 135 Hits.
After helping Tampa reach the World Series in 2020, Adames was traded to the Brewers, ending his stay with the Rays. With the team, Adames had 289 Hits with 43 of them being Home Runs.
