The fact that Leon Roberts had a Major League career at all was impressive, considering that he withheld poor vision from his teammates and management.  Regardless, he fought for a spot in Baseball, and his best years happened in Seattle.

Roberts would see the bulk of the role at Rightfield for the young Seattle Mariners from 1978 to 1980.  His best season was his first where he had personal bests in Hits (142), Home Runs (22), Runs Batted In (92), and the three stats of the Slash Line (.301/.364/.515).  He regressed in the two years after, but the fact that he was still playing the majority of at bats, was a testament to Roberts.

He was part of a 12-player deal to the Texas Rangers after the 1980 season, and with the Mariners, he managed 358 Hits.
