Sasaki’s 2001 year also saw him have a WHIP of 0.885, and in 2002, he had an ERA of 2.52, the best he would have in the Majors. Sasaki played one more year in Seattle, only accruing 10 Saves, and he would return to Yokohama after the 2003 season ended.
