As a Toronto Blue Jay, Roy Halladay had already won a Cy Young and would put together back-to-back seasons leading all league pitchers in bWAR.  As a Philadelphia Phillie, he would do it again.

Roy Halladay’s first season in Philadelphia would see him win the Cy Young Award with a 21 and 10 record with a 2.44 ERA, but it is what he did in the postseason that will be talked about forever.  Halladay pitched a no-hitter, the second in post-season history after Don Larsen’s famed perfect game in 1956 against the Cincinnati Reds in the NLDS.  The multi-faceted Pitcher would be the runner-up for the Cy Young in 2011 but injuries took his toll on “Doc” and he was a fragment of what he used to be in his final two seasons in baseball.

Halladay would die in 2017 when he crashed his amphibious plane in the Gulf of Mexico.  The Phillies would posthumously induct him into their Baseball Wall of Fame in 2018, and the Baseball Hall of Fame chose him the next year.
