Carlos Carrasco was one of the prospects that the Cleveland Indians received in the 2009 deal for Cliff Lee, and shortly after this happened, the Venezuelan made his Major League debut, appearing in five Games.

Carrasco played in a handful of games in 2010 and was part of the rotation in 2011, with an 8-9 record over 142 Innings.  Injury struck with Tommy John surgery, and he missed 2012 and part of 2013.  The Tribe stuck with Carrasco, and he returned to the lineup, arriving as a vital member of the club in 2015 when he went 14-12 with 216 Strikeouts.  He again missed some tarts in 2016, but in 2017, Carrasco led the American League in Wins (18) against only six Losses and had 226 Strikeouts.  He finished fourth in Cy Young voting, proving that Cleveland was right to stay by his side during his rehab.

After another good year in 2019 (17-10, 231 Strikeouts,Carrasco missed a large portion of the 2019 season due to leukemia, but he returned to complete the year and won both the Roberto Clemente Award and Comeback Player of the Year.

The comeback story in Cleveland after the COVID-19 plagued 2020 season, as he was traded with Francisco Lindor to the Mets in a cost-cutting move.  Carrasco left the Indians with an 88-73 record.
