Jose Ramirez is another in the great line of infielders that the Dominican Republic produced, and to date, he has only plied his trade with the Cleveland Indians.

Signed as an Amateur Free Agent in 2009, Ramirez debuted for the parent club in 2013.  Ramirez broke out in 2016, batting .312 with 176 Hits, and he followed that with back-to-back All-Star Seasons, with expanding power numbers.  In 2017, he led the American League in Doubles (56) and blasted 29 Home Runs with a .318 Batting Average.  Ramirez finished third in MVP voting that year and did so again in 2018 when he increased his HR total to 39 and joined the 30/30 club with 34 Stolen Bases.

Ramirez's production slipped in 2019, but in the COVID-19 reduced season of 2020, he led the AL in Runs (45) and had 17 Home Runs, with a .993 OPS.  He was second for the MVP, losing to Chicago's Jose Abreu.  He had another strong season in 2021, finishing sixth in MVP voting with a 36 HR/103 RBI year, and won a fourth Silver Slugger and was an All-Star again in 2022, with another great year.  Ramirez again was a hugh-calibre player in 2023, finishing tenth for he MVP, adding a fifth All-Star off a 173 Hit/24 HR year.

The three-time Silver Slugger enters 2024 with 1,327 Hits and 216 Home Runs.
