“The Cuban Missile” had a good rookie season with a .290 Batting Average with 21 Home Runs and would finish second in Rookie of the Year voting to Evan Longoria. Ramirez however would shift from Second to Short, and he was better there defensively, finishing in the top ten in Defensive bWAR while also securing the Wilson Defensive Award in 2012. He would have four more 15 Home Run Seasons, and never had less than 145 Hits in a season while playing in Chicago.
He signed with the Padres the year after, but that would be his last season in the Majors as his play dramatically dropped off. With the White Sox, Ramirez would have 1,272 Hits, 109 Home Runs, 135 Stolen Bases, and a .273 Batting Average. Had Ramirez not had a poor .310 OBP, he would likely have climbed a few rungs on this rank.
