Duffy was one of the better hitters of the National League throughout the 1890’s where from 1892 to 1897 he would post a batting average over .300. This included a fourth place .363 in 1893 and a colossal Batting Title winning .440 in 1894 where he also led the NL in Hits (237), Doubles (51), Home Runs (18) and OPS (1.196) and if there was a National League MVP to be given out in 1894 he certainly would have won it. The Outfielder would remain solid throughout his Boston tenure though it would end when he (what else?) jumped to a rival league when he became a member of the Milwaukee Brewers of the American League before the 1901 Season.
Duffy would enter the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1945 as a member of the Old Timers Committee.
