An All Star as a Starting Pitcher with the Cleveland Indians in 1989, Greg Swindell was firmly entrenched as a Relief Pitcher by the time he arrived to Arizona.

Despite his lengthy 17 year career, it was the four seasons in Arizona where he pitched his most games (225) and he did well in late relief situations, especially in first two seasons where he had a WHIP under 1.200.

In the 2001 World Series Swindell would help Arizona win as he appeared in three of the Games and did not allow a run over 2.2 Innings.
