Playing his entire career with the Minnesota Twins, Joe Mauer has a case for being the best-hitting Catcher ever, or at least being named as the best-hitting Catcher based on Batting Average.

Actually, let’s give him that one now.

Mauer is the only Catcher to win three Batting Titles and he also won the OBP title twice.  Mauer batted over .300 six times, one of which was .365, the season he won the American League MVP.   He would also finish in the top ten in voting three other seasons.  A five-time Silver Slugger winner, he would also win the Gold Glove three times.

Mauer retired after the 2018 Season, nine years after he won his MVP.  He accumulated 2,132 Hits, 143 Home Runs and batted .306.  The Twins retired his number 7 the year after her retired.
