When TNA completely dropped the ball in regards to contract negotiations and let him go, New Japan picked up the Phenomenal One and his stock rose; so much so that he could no longer be ignored by the WWE and was signed and debuted at the 2016 Royal Rumble.
Those who worried that Styles would be misused needn’t have worried as he was allowed to be the same wrestler he was and displayed a promo style that most people didn’t know he had.
