Winning regional titles everywhere he went, Ron Garvin was always considered a contender for every championship. Like many wrestlers of his era, Garvin became a true star into his 40’s, spending much of his time as a solid mid card face in the NWA. Surprisingly, he became the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, though that reign is best known for him getting booed out of the building in his title defense against Ric Flair at Starrcade 87. Regardless, Garvin was a solid worker and could be an outside shot for enshrinement in the WWE Hall of Fame despite his limited run with Vince.
