141. The Jumping Bomb Angels
(Noriyo Tateno & Itsuki Yamazaki)

It is not argued that there were not athletic women in wrestling before the Jumping Bomb Angels; there most certainly was.  However, this was this female Japanese duo that became showcase moves that were not seen on American television before; by either men or women!  They were able to get over with the WWF audience despite not speaking English, nor being bombshells; they got over on their stellar ring work.  They were definitely pioneers in their field.  Had women’s wrestling evolved into more athletic contests instead of the “Diva’s” division, the work of Noriyo Tateno and Itsuki Yamazaki would be celebrated in the WWE today.

The Jumping Bomb Angels belong in the WWE Hall of Fame! And they were considered bombshells at least in their country (they recorded music for CBS/Sony Records Japan and were pretty much teen idols, just like other female tag teams of the era such as the Crush Gals).

Desiree Petersen, Velvet McIntyre, Princess Victoria, Leilani Kai and Sherri Martel were all hotties. Mad Maxine was somewhat hot but freaky at 6'2". Rockin' Robin was kinda tomboy-ish. Judy Martin, even in her late 20's, loked like someone's grandma! :o

And then we have Moolah, who was born OLD. May she rest in pieces, that POS.

They were literally the first high flying team in WWE history and Survivors of the first women's elim match in a Big 4 PPV. If WWE is serious about female wrestlers,th ey could do well to elect them at some point for being the first women on a National Promotion to show that level of athleticism.

Not bombshells?! What asian girls can't be bomb shells? You have to have big tits and blonde hair? They looked better than 90% of the women wrestlers in the WWF. Who looked better than them? Leilani Kai? Faboulous Moolah? Lol
