Seth Maxwell

Seth Maxwell
We kind of have a love/hate relationship with Mac Davis. On interviews he always came across so likeable, and someone you want to go out and have a few beers with. On the other hand, his greatest hit was telling women that he was scum (Baby, Don’t get Hooked on me) and that he was just using them, though we have to give him credit for the way that few women seemed to pick up on that and viewed him as a curly headed sex symbol for women in the 1970’s. He also penned the schmaltzy songs that Bobby Goldsboro had (check out our worst songs of all-time list) and decades later we still haven’t forgiven for it.

This in itself is how we felt about Davis as Seth Maxwell, the Quarterback of the North Dallas Bulls, who was very loosely based on the Cowboys star, Don Meredith.   Maxwell was the team leader, which was shown on the field, and off. Our issue though, is trying to believe that Mac Davis could QB a pro team, as physically he looked completely wrong for the part. Honestly, we find that a huge obstacle, but then we never got “hooked” on him.

The Bullet Points:
Movie Appeared:
North Dallas Forty (1979)

Actor:
Mac Davis

Position Portrayed:
Quarterback

Played for:
North Dallas Bulls

Why you should vote for him:
It was not a bad impression of “Dandy” Don Meredith. That might be worth something.

Why you should not vote for him:
Physically, buying Mac Davis as a pro Quarterback is a little difficult.
