The mere fact that they had hits in three decades, and still tour to sold out crowds is proof that they belong in the rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame

It is unconscionab le that The Moody Blues are not in the HOF, and I have heard that there is a personal grudge against them by Jan Wenner and as a result they will never get in. They are arguably the Fathers of Prog Rock, and certainly one of the first to embrace full Orchestras in Rock and Roll.

I worked as a musician throughout the 60s and I can tell you that the Moody Blues had an impact of one sort or another on all of us. They are etched in British 60s concrete along with the Beatles, Stones, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin Cream, Hendrix, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, and many more. Their recordings, from Days of Future Past through Seventh Sojourn were masterpieces of lyrical and musical composition and musicianship . I was then blown away by their resurgence in the 80s. It would be a very welcome thing for Jan Wenner, if he is at the root of the snubs to get off his axe to grind and listen to all of us - get them nominated and in!

I really is a shame this is even a question. I'm afraid the members of this band will never get to enjoy knowing they made the list during their living life time. Shame on the Rock and Roll hall of fame>

As Bono once said (paraphrasin g): "Rock and Roll combines European melodies with African rhythms." The Moody Blues wrote melodies of such beauty that few other R&R groups could match -- Beatles one of the few groups that could do it in such numbers of beautiful songs. And most every song has the classic bass and percussion foundation that characterize s Rock. It's a no-brainer. Heck, they belong in the Hall of Fame based just on the classic album "Days of Future Pass" alone if they had done nothing else.

In their heyday, they were actually more popular in their homeland than their contemporari es, The Beatles. Touring in every decade since the 60's, and each member of the band being musicians, songwriters and performers of the highest caliber. Induct them now while all the members of the band are still alive. It would be a tragedy of insane proportion to have any member be inducted posthumously ...

Quoting Winston O'Boogey:
Again, one of the astonishing no-brainers. They fit any and every criteria you could have for entry and are more deserving than a large handful of acts that are in. Creative, progressive, innovative and ahead of their time, creators and pioneers....and oh yeah, WILDY successful.
Saw them live after their "charting" days had passed, amazing.

I accidentally hit the negative choice and it was an error, because you are right! I think another reason they have not made it into the Rock Hall of Fame is that they are a spiritually oriented. I don't mean "religious," although they have songs that touch in Eastern mysticism like "In search of the lost chord-namely Om, and others. I seriously believe they are in the top ten Rock bands- all things considered! They also know how to read and write music which I guess the "rock 'n' roll Hall of Fame," does not consider cool rock 'n' roll! Wake up guys!!

Like Mike Wilson said, The Moody Blues not being inducted for this long is the best reason to consider the R&R Hall of Fame a complete sham. Oh yeah and the fact that KISS is.
