Top 5 Albums from Last.FM

  • Sixteen Stone

  • Razorblade Suitcase

  • The Science of Things

  • Golden State

  • Sixteen Stone (Remastered)

Although there are many who despised Bush and called them a watered down version of Pearl Jam, or a prepackaged Alternative band for MTV, there were many in the States (though not in their home in England) who responded well to their sound and their Post Grunge radio friendly music.  Despite their success, the band is best known now as the group that found Gwen Stefani her husband.  If that is what you are best known for, can it be safe to say that induction will be difficult?

I have to say, I think this is the most unfair recap you have given to a future band that I have read.

Growing up in Boston, Bush was one of the core bands that made up my playlist in my formative music years.

Sixteen Stone is definitely their best album, but Razorblade Suitcase has been criminally underrated over the years (just listened to Swallowed on my way to work this morning).

They had seven top 10 hits in three years (Everything Zen, Little Things, Comedown, Glycerine, Machinehead, Swallowed, and Greedy Fly) plus three other top 10s with The Chemicals Between Us, The People That We Love and last year's The Sound of Winter, which although not my favorite of their songs, showed that they were still relevant musically nearly 10 years after their break up.

Is Bush a band on the level of Pearl Jam or Nirvana or Soundgarden? Probably not. But they are a lot better remembered by many people for their music rather than who they married.
