Although they were a successful band in the 80’s, Ratt does not seem to get a lot of respect these days. As one of the Pop Metal stars of their day, Ratt was not about singing socially conscious music but rather fun party music. Granted, their look and style is somewhat maligned these days, but as cycles go it is possible that their style of music could get celebrated again.

As a survivor of the 1980s, I'm not so sure I recall Ratt getting a lot of respect back then, either.Ratt was a standard-issue LA commercial hard rock outfit, hardly innovators yet not incompetent either. Ratt's early songs covered the usual territory

I loved their album covers. marianne Gravatte was a playboy playmate of the year and her out of the cellar cover is a classic. Obviously any concert with these guys and poison is awesome. and round and round is a certified classsic way better than most of the hair band stuff but ultimately they weren't near good enuff to be really considered.
